A third generation Vancouverite; growing up Tamara worked hard at various part-time jobs (cleaning stables, selling shoes, developing x-rays, cashier) to put herself through school. For the past nine years Tamara has been CTV’s Weathercaster during CTV News at Five, CTV News at Six and CTV News at 11:30. Most recently Tamara was the CTV Weathercaster for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games as well as being selected by television viewers across North America to be a special guest host with Regis Philbin on the popular daily talk show Live with Regis and Kelly.

In 2007 Tamara entered the world of Motherhood with the birth of her son Beckett on August 2, 2007 and again in 2008 with the birth of her daughter Zoë on September 24, 2008.  Tamara is super excited about the arrival of baby number three this Summer!  Her growing young family has also provided Tamara with lots of great content for her Modern Mommy Blog which has proven to be a popular feature on ctvbc.ca. Attendees at the Bellies to Babies Celebration on Sunday, April 18th will hear Tamara share her inspirational story on how she balances work and family while juggling a very successful career in front of provincial and national media cameras.

Introduction to Breastfeeding Basics

Thinking ahead to breastfeeding? La Leche League is all about that. Sandra and Monique are Leaders with La Leche League Canada and they will walk you through the three most important things you need to know about breastfeeding your precious newborn. La Leche League is an international nonprofit organization and has volunteer Leaders all over the Lower Mainland, BC, Canada and the world. Every leader has breast fed her own child for at least a year and has received extensive training in helping other mothers to meet their own breastfeeding goals with information, encouragement and support. Leader facilitated get-togethers are held once or twice a month in most communities. These meetings are relaxed, fun, and encourage mother-to-mother connection so you can learn and share at your own pace.
