Certified image consultant, Joyce Lau is the founder of Yummy Mummy Makeovers. Her vision was to create a place where moms could get together to play, share ideas and have fun with fashion. She experienced the anxiety that most moms felt when their mat leave was over and they struggled to balance the joy of a new family while facing financial realities. Planning ahead for herself, Joyce knew she wanted the flexibility to spend time with her family. Joyce extended her passion to help others.She created an opportunity for moms that combines income, fun, fashion & shopping all in one. And now thanks to Yummy Mummy Makeovers, women everywhere are no longer having closet meltdowns.
Born in Montreal and based in Vancouver, Karen Le Billon is the author of French Kids Eat Everything and Getting to Yum: Seven Secrets for Raising Eager Eaters (which will be published in May 2014). Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Huffington Post, Globe and Mail, and Toronto Star. Getting to Yum introduces families to the amazing new science of "taste training" -- which will help parents teach their children to eat (and love) healthy food. Karen has a PhD from Oxford, and has received many awards, including a Rhodes Scholarship, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, a Taste Canada food writing award, and the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation’s Real Food Advocate award. Married to a Frenchman, Karen has two daughters, aged 7 and 10. Her family divides its time between Vancouver and Brittany, France
Katie Minder is originally from England but grew up in Bermuda before coming to Canada. She is a mother to four boys and currently lives in Tsawwassen with her husband and two youngest children. Katie believes that those important weeks immediately following birth into new motherhood - be it for the first, second or forth time- should be supported as naturally as possible to ensure a smooth start. Katie is a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist with Full Circle Placenta Encapsulation as well as a Certified Doula through DONA International
Vanessa is a fully licensed financial security advisor, holding her LLQP designation . She enjoys helping families plan for their children's future and save for their education.
Becky is a RN, graduated from the University of British Columbia, and has worked for Canadian Blood Services since 1995. Becky is the Collection Supervisor for the new Canadian Blood Services National Public Cord Blood Bank. Prior to taking on the role to help set up the cord blood collection program at BC Women's Hospital, Becky worked extensively with Canada's Bone and Marrow Transplant Doctors to help patients who are searching for a matching stem cell donor/product needed to treat their life threatening diseases. Over the last 18 years, Becky has been helping Canadians through blood collection, searching for stem cell donors and working with the Canada's Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplant programs across the country to better serve our Canadian patients.
Dr. Gartner is a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and has been dedicated to continually improve the standard of care delivered to her patients. Dr. Gartner has met the requirements as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been a member of a number of dental and medical professional organizations and has volunteered on professional boards in the Evergreen Pediatric Dental Study Club (Seattle, Washington), B.C. Pediatric Dentist Society and the Audit Committee of B.C. Children's Hospital. She has participated in joint clinical studies with graduate students and post doctoral students from the Department of Oral Health and Psychology at the University of British Columbia and Public Health at the University of Washington.
Jennifer is the founder of Sleepdreams Sleep Professionals Inc and is a university instructor who has presented at several national conferences on sleep and is involved in sleep research. She has worked professionally in paediatrics for children and infants since 1996. Her educational credentials include an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia, a Master of Clinical Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Science at the University of British Columbia. She has also taken course credits as a breast feeding counselor and specializes in sensory processing to help children get to sleep and stay asleep.
